Marketing From Scratch
Upon establishing a business venture, whether it’s just an idea, selling a second hand car or a large firm, you’ll probably come across the concept of marketing. Yet to the absolute beginner, it is quite difficult to find out exactly what you need to do, how, and why.
About this Site
In a Nutshell
On the 14th November, 2008 Flabble was set up by Tom Church to help others promote themselves and their products in a fun and satisfying manner.
Why?
Upon searching around on the internet about marketing, nothing could be found that sounded vaguely interesting or understandable. There was no clear, easy to read guides, or explanations. And even when I did find a couple of websites that offered help, they bored me to death and their posts lacked quality content. Being young, enthusiastic and full of a “just get out there and do it!” attitude, I didn’t want to waste my life away learning about quantifiable analysis.
When you’ve got something that your passionate about, you want to share it. You want to give it to others but do so in a satisfying way. To me, it doesn’t make much sense how some people allow themselves to get angry, frustrated and generally negative over why forcing their product(s) onto others isn’t working for their sales.
Flabble is about having fun. It’s a project in making for me, and a learning experience. I want to learn about marketing via a hands-on approach. Like millions of others, we could study it for years upon years, then go to a firm and tell them that we have all their answers. Or, like a few and far between, we could find our own value that we want to give, market it ourselves and learn from our own mistakes, and make money along the way!
It just so happens that the value I want to give right now, is through Flabble and how I believe anyone can be successful as well as have fun along the way.
What do you mean by fun?
Two things. Firstly, it’s about the marketing methods you use. Develop a boring newsletter, or create a publicity stunt. The choice is yours. Secondly it’s the satisfaction gained from sharing value and knowing that you have helped others.
